October 2026 highlights on HBO Max in Iceland
In October, HBO Max premieres the new thriller Kill Jackie, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and created by talent behind the hit series Killing Eve and Gangs of London. Also bringing suspense to the month are Crystal Lake, set in the world of the Friday the 13th film franchise, and Yaga, which plays with the mystery of Baba Yaga and stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Clark Backo, and Hudson Williams, who rose to prominence with the hit series Heated Rivalry. Meanwhile, the new season of the Spanish HBO drama Rage introduces a group of women pushed into desperate situations, whose only weapon left is rage.
Details are subject to change.
KILL JACKIE
Premieres 2 October
Jackie Price (Oscar, BAFTA and Tony Award-winning Catherine Zeta-Jones) has been living a luxurious existence for the last twenty years – travelling the world, selling fine art and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international drug smuggler. But just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers that ‘The Seven Demons’, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down ‘The Seven Demons’ one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realizes that her own demons are far more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail… and her buried secrets lead her closer to home, with surprising consequences. From the creatives behind Killing Eve and Gangs of London, the series is based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Sunday Times best-selling author Nick Harkaway, who writes under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen.

RAGE
Season 2 premieres 9 October

They will all have to face these harsh situations with the only weapon they have left: rage. The series stars Maribel Verdú, Carmen Maura, María León, Cecilia Suárez, Ana Mena, Clara Sans, Claudia Salas and Ana Torrent, and is created and directed by Félix Sabroso, who co-writes the scripts with Juan Flahn and co-directs with Jau Fornés.

CRYSTAL LAKE
Premieres 15 October
A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees, who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year earlier. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set in motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees? Set within the world of one of horror’s most enduring franchises, Crystal Lake expands the mythology of Pamela and Jason Voorhees through a suspenseful new mystery. Crystal Lake stars Emmy winner Linda Cardellini and William Catlett and is produced by A24. Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice, Warrior, Black Sails) serves as creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer.

YAGA
Premieres 23 October
Based on the hit play by showrunner and writer Kat Sandler, Yaga follows Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams). He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic. Additional cast includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, and Hiro Kanagawa, along with Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal.
